2017 Beneficiaries

 The 2017 YPD BLUE 5K – Run for a Reason benefits the following causes:


The 10th annual YPDBLUE 5K will be in memory of Sergeant Craig Stevenson of the Dennis Police Department.  Sergeant Stevenson passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on January 9, 2017.  Donations in his honor will be made to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and the Multiple Myeloma Foundation.

 

National Law Enforcement Memorial FundThe mission of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is to generate increased public support for the law enforcement profession by permanently recording and appropriately commemorating the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers; and to provide information that will help promote law enforcement safety.

The YPD BLUE 5K – Run for a Reason is scheduled during the same week as “Peace Officers Memorial Day” which is held every year on May 15th.

The Yarmouth Police Relief Association, Inc. is the charitable arm of the Yarmouth,Massachusetts Police Department.  It’s membership is comprised of active duty and retired sworn and civilian employees for the department.

Founded in 1932, the YPRA was originally conceived to provide for officers injured in the line of duty at a time when no other safety net existed.  Today the YPRA supports a wide variety of community needs and activities through our many fundraising efforts.”
